Russel Donahue is an award-winning actor, writer, and producer who seamlessly transitions between deeply vulnerable dramatic roles and sharp, off-beat comedy. Born and raised in Ventura, California, Russel’s passion for storytelling began at age 11, performing in short films and local productions. He went on to formalize his craft by training extensively at the Ventura Actors Studio under founder Gina Nemo, eventually becoming a standout alumnus of the studio's original VAS Master Class.

Over his career, Russel has compiled a diverse list of film and television credits. He first gained critical acclaim for his leading performances as Wesley in the award-winning short Dustslicker (He also is one of the stars in the upcoming feature film DUSTSLICKERS) and Ace O'Connor in Shadow Farm. His resume also includes appearances in Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, the series My Boomerang, and major motion pictures like Babylon.

Beyond acting, Russel is a multi-talented creator who co-wrote and starred in the festival-winning feature

film Paddlemania, developed in partnership with G PLAN MEDIA Entertainment.

A longtime collaborator with Gina Nemo, Russel frequently returns to his roots at the Ventura Actors Studio to give back to the local creative community. As a recurring guest teacher, he brings real-world industry experience, a collaborative spirit, and actionable insight from both indie and studio sets directly into the classroom to help the next generation of actors elevate their craft.
